In our effort to create self-motivated, life-long learners, Kindergarten at HMEC provides a developmentally appropriate, integrated curriculum that enhances the social/emotional, intellectual, aesthetic, and physical development of each child while nurturing autonomy, self-esteem, and success.
Learning Experiences in Kindergarten focus on preparing children for the transition to Primary School. As a result of their time in Kindergarten, we aim for children to approach the transition to Primary School;
- Feeling confident about being able to cope.
- Without excessive anxiety.
- With a positive attitude.
- With prior experience and achievements which will be built on and extended in school.
- Eager to meet other children.
- Knowing what is expected of them.
- Somewhat familiar with the school environment and rules.
