Admissions
HMEC welcomes children of all nationalities including: children whose parents are citizens of the PRC, expatriate children who hold foreign passports or who have at least one parent holding a foreign passport or green card.
- Primary: Grades 1 through 6
- Pre-Primary: from 5 years (This is part of the Primary School department)
- Kindergarten: 3 to 5 years
- Creche: Under 3 years old
The school year has four terms, with the academic year starting in late August/early September. See the calendar for details.
Important points to note:
- Children entering Grade 1 should turn 6 before the end of the second term.
- Children entering Pre-Primary should turn 5 before the end of the second term.
- The placement of children into appropriate classes will be decided by the school staff.
- Children can be admitted to the school whenever they arrive in Ningbo.
- A position will only be guaranteed providing a deposit for fees has been paid and
- All fees must be paid prior to the child attending their first day of school.

Registration Requirements
- A non-refundable registration fee of 400RMB
- A completed application form
- Five passport-sized photos with the name of the student printed on the back
- Photocopy of passport or Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan travel documents
- Photocopy of report card from previous school
- Personal Health Record
- Doctor's certificate indicating current health status
